Every heated tobacco device does the same job — warms a stick instead of setting it on fire — but they are not interchangeable. Each platform takes its own consumables, and a stick bought for the wrong system will not fit the chamber.

Use this page to work out which platform you are buying into. The choice of device decides the choice of sticks for as long as you own it, so it is worth a few minutes now.

How the platforms differ

IQOS ILUMA heats by induction from inside the stick, so there is no blade and nothing to clean. glo splits into the older Hyper line, which has the widest stick choice, and the newer Hilo, which heats faster and runs a shorter session. Ploom heats from the outside at a lower temperature — the softest draw and the least residual smell of anything here. BONDS and lil SOLID sit at the entry end: cheaper devices and noticeably cheaper consumables.

What each platform takes

Holder, charger or kit

Only the IQOS lines split into parts. The holder is the piece you draw on and the piece that wears out first; the pocket charger tops it up between sticks; a kit is both in one sealed box. Buy a kit for a first device, and individual parts later only to replace the half that actually failed. Every other platform on this page is a single unit.

Price and what is in the box

Devices here run from €35 for the entry models to €140 for a full ILUMA PRIME kit. All ship sealed with the manufacturer’s warranty, charging cable and documentation — we do not sell opened, refurbished or repackaged units.
